Muniyara is an ancient megalithic burial site located near Marayoor in Idukki district, Kerala 🌿. The name “Muniyara” means “abode of sages,” and the site contains remnants of dolmenoid cists — prehistoric stone burial chambers believed to date back to the Iron Age.

These stone structures, made of large slabs arranged in box-like formations, reflect early human civilization and burial practices. Surrounded by scenic hills and dry forest landscapes, Muniyara offers a unique blend of history and nature. 🏞️
