Abhayaranyam Elephant Rehabilitation Centre is a peaceful elephant sanctuary located at Kaprikkad in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. Managed by the Kerala Forest Department, this eco-tourism project focuses on the care and rehabilitation of rescued elephants.

Unlike commercial elephant camps, Abhayaranyam provides a natural forest environment where elephants can roam, bathe, and interact in a healthier setting. Visitors can observe elephants from a safe distance while learning about conservation efforts and elephant care.

The sanctuary is surrounded by greenery and lies near the Periyar River, offering a calm and educational experience for families, children, and wildlife lovers. Watching elephants being fed or bathing in the river is a memorable highlight of the visit.
