Tipu’s Fort, popularly known as Palakkad Fort, is a well-preserved historical monument located in the heart of Palakkad, in the state of Kerala. Originally built in 1766 by Hyder Ali and later strengthened by Tipu Sultan, the fort played a significant role in the Mysore–British wars.

Constructed using strong granite blocks, the fort features thick walls, bastions, a wide moat, and a central open ground. The lush green garden inside the fort premises adds to its charm, making it a perfect place for leisurely walks and photography.

Today, the fort stands as a symbol of Kerala’s historical legacy, attracting history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and families alike. Its strategic location and impressive structure make it one of the best-preserved forts in Kerala.
