Overbury’s Folly is a historic seaside structure located in Thalassery, Kannur district. Built in 1879 by E. N. Overbury, a British Sub-Collector, the structure originally served as a recreational retreat overlooking the Arabian Sea.

Perched on a small cliff, this charming viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the vast sea and rocky shoreline. The name “Folly” reflects the colonial-era term used for ornamental buildings constructed mainly for pleasure and scenic enjoyment.

Today, it is a peaceful spot ideal for evening walks, photography, and enjoying cool sea breezes. The sunset views from here are especially captivating, with waves crashing against the rocks below.
