Muthanga is one of the main safari zones of the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the lush forests of Wayanad, Kerala. Known for its thriving elephant population, Muthanga offers an unforgettable opportunity to witness pachyderms roaming freely in their natural habitat.

The forest here is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and shares ecological continuity with Bandipur and Mudumalai forests. Large herds of elephants are commonly seen grazing in open grasslands or moving gracefully through teak and bamboo forests. Along with elephants, visitors may also spot deer, gaur, peacocks, and occasionally predators like leopards.

Early morning safari rides through mist-covered woodland create a truly magical wilderness experience. The calm atmosphere, golden sunlight filtering through trees, and distant elephant calls make Muthanga a paradise for wildlife lovers and photographers.
