Illikkal Kallu

Illikkal Kallu is one of the most breathtaking hill viewpoints in Kerala, located about 6,000 feet above sea level in Kottayam district. Known for its dramatic rock formations and mist-covered valleys, this hilltop offers panoramic views of the Western Ghats.

The name “Illikkal Kallu” comes from a massive rock that is believed to have once had three parts, with one portion having fallen off. A narrow rock bridge called Narakapalam (Bridge of Hell) adds a thrilling element to the experience.

On clear days, you can spot distant hills and even parts of the Arabian Sea horizon. During monsoon and early mornings, the place is wrapped in clouds, creating a magical atmosphere.
