Muniyara in Marayoor is an ancient megalithic burial site located in the scenic district of Idukki, in the state of Kerala. The word “Muniyara” means “abode of sages”, and these stone structures are believed to date back to the Neolithic or Iron Age period.

The site features large dolmens — table-like stone chambers built using massive slabs — which were used as burial monuments by early tribal communities. Surrounded by hills, sandalwood forests, and open landscapes of Marayoor, the location offers both historical significance and natural beauty.
