Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary is a serene and wildlife-rich forest region located in the northern part of Wayanad, in the state of Kerala. It is one of the two major ranges of the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and lies close to the Karnataka border.
Known for its dry deciduous forests and open grasslands, Tholpetty offers better chances of spotting animals compared to denser forest areas. Visitors often sight elephants, deer, gaur, peacocks, and occasionally leopards during safari rides.
The early morning mist, golden sunlight filtering through trees, and peaceful forest atmosphere create a magical experience. Jeep safaris are the main attraction here, making it a perfect destination for wildlife lovers and photographers.
